WINNIE PANDE

Occasionally dressing up for college in a bright pink kurta, while also channeling the “I woke up like this” look, isn’t all that challenging for Winnie, and she manages to oscillate between the two quite seamlessly at times. Her style is minimal( as she argues)and she would rather opt for comfort over style; although she has betrayed the cotton kurta on several occasions to step into the world of sequins and block prints. Tripping over her dupatta as she makes her way to class, and fumbling around to locate her ID card- isn’t that just the person you would want to validate your choice of clothing? Whether you’re in it for the laughs, or just looking for approval within the campus, she’s ready to give you tips on the type of earrings you can wear with formals, and whether that plaid sweatshirt is really what you should leave the hostel in. (Seriously? Plaid? That’s SO last season)

KRITI GOMBER

Fashion, as a concept is a mystery to her color impaired brain, and as a revolution, it’s something to giggle about, for, since childhood, a t-shirt and denim have been my go to. The Indian wear, buried behind the wardrobes, jumped ahead, right after, my Christ admission confirmation. Any color Kurta, which basically matches with black, has been my definition of Fashion, hopefully not forgetting the ID card in her annoyingly messy room, and adding on to it, a rare appearance of earrings, which keep sliding around in her bag, after the lunch break. She will never try to define her style, for it needs to be a category of it, to hold a definition. Being a Punjabi, she surely brightens up at the sight of perfectly matched patialas with phulkari dupattas. Also, being an amateur poet, she does try to find a little poetry in the way everyone dresses up, according to their mood. Just saying though, you’d rather trust your own self, than this person, who has nothing but shades of black and blue in her wardrobe.

SHRIYA NAIR

IMG_20181128_135129_598

A former tomboy, presently self-proclaimed goth, Shriya Nair, is ashamed to admit that she came into possession of her first black kurta only three weeks ago.

Born a mallu, converted to a Mumbaikar, Shriya proudly claims to be seen dressed in the dullest kurtas and having left her leather cords at home, courtesy her mother. But she has taken up a new pledge to not let anyone else be prey to this leatherless plight. She promised to be a slightly knowledgeable yet completely pretentious in her fashion “advice”.

From having lived in jeans and camo tees, to wearing Kurtis six hours a day, six days a week, the one thing she missed most is her leather. So to any and every leather fanatic out there, all she has to say is, if you ever want to discuss what chocker goes with your blue kurta, or if your saber tooth leather cord goes with your grey shirt, she’s your girl.

SHOUNAK BHATTACHARJEE

Generally colorful, and donned with a tie on college grounds to add an extra touch, meet Shounak Bhatta-( never mind, his name is a handful)

Rarely covered in warmers, the go-to style for him is mostly subtle with similar color shades. Shounak doesn’t believe in running a comb through his hair because he prefers to be casual in his approach towards the same( and because it adds to his schoolboy charm?), but college rules disagree with our guy (unfortunately).

ANOUSHKA JAIN

To describe her sense of style the words color, fit and comfort can be used. She loves to experiment with colors, textures, and patterns to arrive at the perfect outfit.

She draws inspiration from outfits that incorporate new and unthought of items merging seamlessly with Indian ethnic wear.

She needs to be comfortable with what she wears and cannot ever leave home without at least minimal makeup in order to feel put together.

She is still trying to master the art of carrying a dupatta hoping to succeed some day.

SHRUTI GHOSH

Being comfortable in one’s own skin is the fashion trend that Shruti has come to embrace. College is as difficult as it is fun, and one needs to be confident and adaptable in order to make it through safely because constant validation is what we all want, don’t we? She believes that the best way to rock any attire is by being confident. Minimalistic is her go to style as it makes her feel simple yet elegant at the same time. Black, red and blue are the prominent colors that find a way in her closet, no matter how much she gravitates towards pinks and greens. Black heels complement her minimalistic look and add to the charm. Limited patterns in clothing go well with her casual and sophisticated look and blend well with the rules of Christ. We love casual, but we love it even better when Shruti wears it 😉

ASHWIN KESWANI

Bold designs and dark colors are what Ashwin Keswani pulls off effortlessly. He admits to making heads turn as he walks into college (hey, he’s being modest here) From pants and shirts to chinos and loafers, the guy perfectly dresses for the daytime. He is also a fan of pullovers, and hoodies are his best friend (because one looks the best when they can’t be seen, right?) Have you always wanted a guy who can validate your choice of clothing? Here’s your man.
