‘Tis the season- Fairy lights to fairylands.

It’s that time of the year. December has arrived, when the air gets chillier and drinks get steaming hot. Fairy lights add beauty everywhere and survival is nearly impossible without jackets. Christmas is just around the corner and to be honest, we all are low-key excited because festivity has become a luxury in our busy lives. If not for the holiday itself, then as college students, for going back home, eating until you burst and having zero responsibilities. While some are in love with the festive feeling, others are eagerly waiting to go back home.post 3e

Winter comes with its own sense of beauty and comfort. In a city like Bangalore, there is no point in talking about snow and reindeer and what not, but life has figured out a rhythm of its own by being busy and serene at the same time, somehow. While we rush to finish our assignments and tests, the little things are what helps to keep your sanity intact. A cup of scalding lemon tea, good music, paper, and pen and a good laugh with our favorite people has become a routine, whereas, curling up with a good book after a long day works wonders as well (or straight up passing out when you see the pillow, but let’s be aesthetic).

post 3b Christmas means different things to all of us. To some it may mean going to church and praising the birth of Jesus Christ, to some it may be a time to go back to family and friends, to some it may be time to go on a shopping spree, for some it may be the time to wolf down any bit of food within a 10 mile radius without judgments.

To me, Christmas still means childlike joy, when the whole city is swathed in multi-colored lights and it is also an excellent excuse for eating outrageous amounts of cake. While we enjoy ourselves, one mustn’t get caught up in the beauty of it all and forget the reality. If it is the season to be happy, everyone should be so, including the unfortunate once who cannot afford to embody the spirit of Christmas. So let’s make this world a better place to be and gear up for the season! post 3f
