Faux Formals. #PretentiousPricks

Being in Christ can sometimes make you feel like Anne Hathaway from Devil Wears Prada especially on a Thursday when everyone is bustling around campus looking like they walked straight out of a business magazine. (For real, Forbes needs to step up its game)

So often, first-year students are lost when it comes to what to do during Thursdays( or any day for that matter). Or at least we were, for the first few days. But recently, Thursdays seem to have become the one day most Christites wait for. The color of the new Christ formals is Gray. Yes, quite depressing, but we manage to pull it off. How? Good question.

The cold Bangalore weather can prove to be a blessing when it comes to fashion. The most popular trend in Christ is pairing up your shirt and trousers with a classy sweater. One either goes with pastel shades, baby pinks, and beiges or with the never out of style- black and navy blue.

When it comes to our hair, ladies, we all know how comfortable messy buns can be. Fortunately, they look just as good with our formals too! Paired with the right shade of lipstick, a perfect hairstyle, and the right sized hoop earrings, we can manage to look pretty GQ worthy.

While trying to look professional, most people, of all genders, subject their poor feet to multiple hours of being stuffed into the most uncomfortable pair of shoes. At Christ, we believe in even our feet being liberated. We’d much rather make sure their nice and smug in a pair of classic Converse or Vans. And trust me, they look pretty dapper (do people still say dapper??).

So if you’re still wondering how to mix things up, don’t. Pick your pastel, choose your lip color, find your hoops, slip on your All-stars. And hurry, you really don’t want to miss attendance
